It exists to protect knowledge, dignity, and rhythm — ensuring that gastronomy tourism in Tomohon grows through participation, not extraction.

The community includes:

• Clove, nutmeg, coconut, and vegetable farmers
• Palm sugar makers and palm wine tappers
• Cultural elders and storytellers
• Young local facilitators and guides

This network determines when, how, and with whom guests may be welcomed.

Most travel products start with demand.
Our journeys start with consent.

Through KOMPPARGASTOM:

• Hosts choose if and when to receive guests
• Activities follow agricultural, religious, and family cycles
• Sensitive knowledge is shared only when trust is earned
• Capacity limits are respected to avoid fatigue and disruption

This is why our journeys are:

• small by design
• often unavailable on fixed dates
• sometimes refused — intentionally

KOMPPARGASTOM is actively involved in:

• Co-designing new journeys and retiring old ones
• Protecting hosts from overexposure or misuse

Sulawesious Encounters acts as facilitator and curator — not owner.

When guests join a journey, their payment supports:

• Preparation time and recovery time for hosts
• Knowledge-sharing without performance pressure
• Long-term viability of local food systems

Pricing is therefore:

• non-negotiable
• per person
• tied to real community costs

Discounting would compromise trust — which is why it is not practiced.

Certain kitchens, rituals, and meals are not always available.
They open only when relationships are ready — between host, season, and guest profile.

This is not exclusivity for status.
It is respect for living culture.
